ISLANDS OF LEGENDS AND NATURAL WONDERS

TOUR SCHEDULE

7-15 SEPTEMBER

Day 1 – Arrival in Japan. Welcome to the Land of Ancient Traditions

Meet & greet at Fukuoka Airport (arrival possible in Osaka, Hiroshima, or other cities). Transfer to Beppu, Japan’s renowned hot spring capital. Check-in at a cozy hotel. In the evening – your first gift from Japan: a soothing soak in a natural onsen. Feel your fatigue melt away as your body is recharged with natural energy.

Day 2 – The 7 Hells of Beppu and the Taste of the Earth

In the morning, we’ll visit the surreal “Seven Hells of Beppu” – steaming hot springs in every color imaginable. Next, enjoy a unique sand onsen experience where you'll be gently buried in warm volcanic sand. And of course, we’ll try dishes steamed right over the geysers – an unforgettable culinary treat! Evening: another dip in the healing waters and time to relax.

Day 3 – Hiroshima & the Sacred Island of Miyajima

Travel (~4 hours) via Hiroshima, where we’ll pause to visit the Peace Park, the Memorial Museum, and one of Japan’s top three scenic gardens. Then on to Miyajima, a sacred island long closed to ordinary mortals. Known for its iconic scenery and mystical energy, it’s one of Japan’s most cherished landmarks. We'll see the Great Torii Gate rising from the sea – legend says those who pass beneath it are blessed with happiness and good fortune. And we will! Evening strolls along the shore, soaking in the island’s spiritual beauty.

Day 4 – Mountain Trails, Temples & Oysters

A hike into the mountains with breathtaking landscapes. We’ll see the eternal flame of Mt. Misen, explore the fascinating Daisho-in Temple complex, and enjoy spontaneous encounters – for example, with the island’s friendly deer. Then dine - oysters! Grilled, tempura, in soups or okonomiyaki, served in many mouthwatering ways. As well as other delicacies - a feast for the senses!

Day 5 – Okayama & Kurashiki: Gardens, Castles & Canals

We head to Okayama (1h50) to visit Korakuen, one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan, and Okayama Castle. Next – the charming town of Kurashiki, a place where history breathes through cobbled lanes, willow-lined canals, and white-walled houses. In the soft morning light, it's simply magical. In the evening, transfer to Matsue (2h40).

Far away, where violet mountain silhouettes meet the lavender dusk, lies Izumo – the mythical “Land of the Gods”, birthplace of Japan’s oldest legends as told in the Kojiki (7th century scroll). You can feel the ancient energy in the air.

Day 6 – Izumo Taisha: The Shrine of Sacred Connections

After breakfast, we visit the magnificent Izumo Taisha Shrine – a place of miracles. See the giant shimenawa rope, as thick as several people, and discover why people clap four times here instead of the usual two. This is the shrine of love, marriage, and spiritual ties. The energy here is unforgettable.

Day 7 – Castles & Samurai Secrets

Explore Matsue, home to one of the few original castles remaining in Japan, and stroll through the samurai quarter, where history comes alive. Then we transfer to Tottori (1.5–2 hours) – a place like no other in Japan.
Remember the film “Woman in the Dunes”? It was shot here, inspired by the unique Tottori sand dunes, a surreal landscape rarely found in Japan.

Day 8 – Sand Dunes & Sculptural Beauty

Today we visit the Sand Museum, famous for its massive sand sculptures, followed by a walk in the dunes. The ocean, the wind, the sweeping hills of sand – it's unforgettable.
Tottori is also known for its delicious 20th Century pears, sericulture, traditional papermaking, and shallot farming. Also on the program: the Samurai Museum, and optionally, a visit to the Kannon Temple.

Day 9 – Transfer to Osaka or Kobe

Transfer (~3 hours). Check-in and unwind.
Now the scenery changes — welcome to the modern face of Japan.

Day 10 – Shopping & Osaka's Vibe

Time for shopping and culinary discoveries in lively Osaka. Wander through colorful districts like Namba and Shinsaibashi, where tradition meets neon charm.

Day 11 – Hidden Osaka & Farewell Dinner

We’ll explore lesser-known corners of Osaka. In the evening – a farewell dinner with stunning views of the city lights.

Day 12 – Departure
